Venture AOT ODM Controls

Every bind that matters before you empty the tank.

ODM Controls

Venture AOT is a controls game wearing an Attack on Titan skin. If the getting started page taught you to press Y, this page is the keyboard you actually fight with. Binds can be remapped in settings. The table below is the default PC layout used in public How To Play footage. Mobile and gamepad users should open the same settings panel — the physics do not get easier just because you swapped input.

Print this next to how to swing. Controls without physics notes still dump gas. Physics notes without binds still miss hooks.

Default PC binds

ActionDefaultNotes
MoveWASDDo not hold W the entire swing. Release and let the cable work.
Jump / gas assistSpaceHold to reel in with the gear. This is not a double-jump from other AOT titles.
Left hookQFire at stone, timber, or a titan body.
Right hookEAlternate with Q. Two live hooks feel different from one.
Reel-inSpace (hold) or middle mouseMiddle mouse is the dedicated reel. Faster when you already have speed.
Gas boostLeft ShiftWorks with or without remaining gas if you are airborne.
Equip / toggle ODMYPress after the NPC kit and after rejoins.
Check gasGLook before you boost across a plaza.
Restore bladesRWhen a pair snaps, R puts blades back.
SlashLeft clickTime the nape; two weak hits are worse than one clean cut.

Open settings on first spawn and confirm none of these landed on a conflicting emote. If you rebound Q/E in Attack on Titan Revolution, those binds did not travel with you.

What each bind is actually for

Q and E are not “grapple at whatever the crosshair likes.” You are planting a physics anchor. Fire too low and you skip across cobbles. Fire too high on a thin spire and the cable yanks you into a wall. Alternate hooks the way Survey Corps footage does: left, right, left, so you never ride a single dead cable into the dirt.

Space and middle mouse are reel-in. Hold Space and the gear pulls you along the cable. Middle mouse is the cleaner reel when you already have speed — creators call it out specifically because people treat Space as a generic boost and then wonder why the tank died. After a later test they gave players more gas, so holding Space is less suicidal than it was on day one, but G still exists for a reason. Read gas management before you hold Shift across a whole district.

Left Shift is the airborne boost. You can fire it with or without gas in the tank as long as your feet are off the ground. That rule surprises people who came from games where boost is 100% fuel. It is not permission to spam. Boost without a plan is how you overshoot the nape and eat a hand.

Y is easy to forget after a death or a rejoin. If you “have no gear,” you probably never remounted. R is the blade reset. When a pair breaks mid-combo, press R instead of running a marathon to a crate that may not even exist in this build.

Settings pass (two minutes)

  1. Rebind anything your fingers already own from another AOT game — consistency beats default purity.
  2. Lower camera shake if the reel makes you nauseous; you need to see the nape.
  3. Check mouse sensitivity. Physics ODM punishes flick-hooks more than arcade ODM.
  4. Confirm middle mouse is not captured by a browser overlay if you stream.
  5. Save. Then do the 60-second courtyard drill from getting started.

Mobile and controller

Public tutorials are PC-first because the physics reward analog precision. If you are on mobile, expect to:

  • Map hooks to separate on-screen buttons rather than a single “grapple.”
  • Treat boost as a tap, not a hold-to-win slider.
  • Land more often. Touch input burns gas through mis-taps.

Controller players should put reel-in on a trigger you can feather. A digital “hold boost” on the face buttons will empty you the same way keyboard Space-spam does.

Combat binds in context

Hooks get you there. The kill is still a timed slash on the nape. How to kill titans covers blinding and clean cuts. Skills sit on top of this skeleton — Gas Burst does not replace Q/E. If a script promises auto-hooks, remember this title is built to feel like the hardest AOT ODM on Roblox. Automation fights the entire design, and there is no dedicated public Venture script worth trusting as of September 2026. See script safety.

Practice routing

Stay in the stone streets from the map update showcases. Hook facades, not the sky. Count three successful reels in a row without touching grass. Then add a Shift boost at the top of the arc. Then add a left-click at a dummy titan if one is wandering. Then stop and tap G. If the tank is yellow after one block, you are still holding W.

When that loop is boring, you are ready for how to swing and the movement tier list. Keep this controls page pinned; every physics patch can shuffle how reel and boost share the same tank.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Venture AOT questions.

Is Space a boost or a reel?

In Venture AOT, holding Space reels you along the cable. Left Shift is the airborne boost. Mixing them up is the fastest way to empty gas.

What does middle mouse do?

Dedicated reel-in. It is cleaner than holding Space once you already have speed.

Can I change keybinds?

Yes. Open settings on spawn and remap Q, E, reel, and boost before muscle memory from another AOT game takes over.

Why does Y stop working after I die?

You often need to press Y again after deaths and rejoins. The kit is not always auto-mounted.
