Venture AOT Skill Tier List
S-tier is mobility. Everything else is earned.
This skill tier list is for Venture AOT only. It ranks unlocks against a doubling point cost, a physics ODM kit, and Freeplay titan work. It does not rank Revolution families. Read unlock skills for the purchase order, then come back here when you have points burning a hole in the menu.
Ranks assume you can already reel. If you cannot, no skill is S-tier. Go to how to swing.
S — buy this first
Gas Burst. Mandatory first unlock. Converts leftover tank into a second angle, a grab escape, or a height save. Creators filming a wipe still rush it before any slash. It does not refill canisters; it spends them well. Pair with gas management.
Nothing else belongs in S until Burst is owned. Putting a damage skill here would ignore the cost curve.
A — second cheap slot
Survival / extra mobility. If testers ship a reel assist, a short i-frame, or a second burst-style tool, it lives here. The job is “I missed, I still get a nape.” Name it only when the patch notes do. Until then, treat the second slot as whatever stops your most common death.
If you die to grabs, A-tier is escape. If you die to empty tanks, A-tier is still mobility, not damage. If you die to missed boxes, A-tier is practice, not a purchase — see how to kill titans.
B — after the double
Nape-assist slashes that shorten a clean cut. Worth it only when you already land blinds. Buying these as unlock three because a montage looked loud is how you stall. After prices double, B-tier is “nice,” not “needed.”
Squad tools (marks, blinds that help teammates) rise toward A in squad play and fall toward C in solo Freeplay. Rank them by your server, not by a clip.
C — vanity and copium
Flashy spins, wide slashes, and anything that looks like Levi before you can pendulum. They eat the doubled cost and still miss. They also teach bad timing: you press the skill instead of waiting for the neck. Keep them off the bar until the trainee sequence is boring.
Unranked / not in this game
Ackerman teleports, Order: Rage, shifter regen, thunder spear mastery, family passives. If a chart includes those names, it is a different Roblox title. Do not spend points you do not have on buttons you do not own.
Cost curve overlay
| Unlock # | Cost behavior | What to buy |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Listed price | Gas Burst |
| 2 | Listed price | Survival / mobility |
| 3+ | Doubles each time | Only a skill with a one-sentence job |
A C-tier skill at slot one is a bigger mistake than a B-tier skill at slot four. Order beats rank.
Patch modifiers
- More gas in tests: Burst looks slightly less godlike; still S because angles matter more than fuel.
- Non-gas swing tests: mobility skills that only exist to recoup reel cost drop a half rank; Burst stays because of grabs.
- Wipes: everyone is a trainee again. The list does not change. Your menu does. See closed testing.
How to argue with this list
Bring a death log, not a clip. “I killed a titan with X” is not a rank. “X saved me from empty-tank deaths for a week” is a rank. We will move rows when updates change the tank or the solver. Until then, Burst remains the only S that does not need a debate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Venture AOT questions.
Is anything besides Gas Burst S-tier?
Not until you own Burst. Other skills are judged after the doubling curve, and none of them replace mobility.
Where do Revolution family skills rank?
They do not. Those buttons are from another game.
Should I save points for a rumored skill?
No. Buy Burst. Rumors wait in Discord; the doubling cost does not.
